Lots of plying yesterday and some knitting today

What more can I say?....should I gloat?....should I rejoice over my success yesterday.  Yep!  I did it!  I finished plying up the second skein, that I had started plying up on Monday.
I wound it off onto my niddy noddy, washed it, hung it to dry and headed back to the spinning wheel and plied up a third skien.
Then I wound it off, washed it, and hung it to dry and headed back to my spinning wheel.  I changed out my bobbins and began refilling the first bobbin.
I did all of this in 2 hours 4 seconds.  I now have 4 skeins (1 was from last month), that I can dye up.  I'm thinking Pink for 2 and Green for the other 2.  What do you think?
This morning I was up bright and early, as I wanted to get back to my knitting on the Handspun Knitted Mountain Sunset Colonial Merino Half Circle Shawl.  I finished another  8 rows in 1 hour 51 minutes 3 seconds.
I now have 86 rows completed.

Spinning is a major part of my life

Spinning is a major part of my life.  I spin everyday, sometimes for an hour and sometimes for 2 or 3 hours.  On days where I only get an hours worth of spinning done its usually because life outside of spinning intervenes.  The days where I get to spin for 2 or 3 hours are rare but nice, because I get lots done.  I may even get a bobbin and a half filled or even 2 skeins plied up.  Today I was only able to spin for 1 hour 47 minutes 34 seconds and almost had my 3rd bobbin filled.
Knitting is also a big part of my life and whenever, I can find some spare time to knit, the needles come out and start in clicking away.  Since I was up really early this morning with Sue-chi, because she wasn't feeling well.  I pulled out the shawl I started on 2 days ago and knitted 9 more rows in 1 hour 47 minutes and 23 seconds.
There's a total 60 rows knitted now and a little over 5 hours worth of knitting time.  I've place markers after each repeat, in order to keep track of the pattern.

Back upstairs plying and spinning.........New listing

So after spending my morning yesterday dyeing some handspun 3 ply white alpaca yarn, I headed upstairs to finish plying up another skein of yarn.
Then because my 3 bobbins were empty and needed to be refilled once again, I changed bobbins out and started in spinning again.
However, this morning was spent running errands, but once they were done I came home and rewound my newly dyed skeins, made labels, took pictures and then listed them.

Did exactly what I hoped today today and more!

I mentioned yesterday, that I hoped to finish refilling the third bobbin today and that's just exactly what I did.
Then I went on to start in plying up the first skein and after 1 hour 37 minutes and 9 seconds, here is where I ended up.
After finishing lunch, I headed back to the spinning room to finished refilling this bobbin of 3 ply handspun white alpaca yarn.
I finished this bobbin up before the 1 hour 37 minutes 28 seconds and started in plying up a second skein.
Then after plying up this second skein, I still have some time left of the clock, so I started in plying up a 3rd skein
Now tomorrow, I'll finish plying up this 3rd skein of handspun white alpaca yarn. Then I'll start in refilling these 3 bobbins once again.  Now to go and wash the 2 skeins I plied up today and hang them to dry over night.

Spinning mood

And I'm still spinning away, just finished refilling the second bobbin of white alpaca.  I love this fleece, there's still 2 1/2 buckets of carded batts from Bellagio's fleece.  The first 2 bobbins are waiting patiently on my sewing box and the third bobbin is now on my spinning wheel.

Right now I just can't seem to get enough of spinning, so I am in the spinning mood,  so as soon as I fill up my bobbins, I start in plying up more 3 ply yarn.  Then as soon as a new skein of 3 ply yarn is spun up, washed and hung to dry, I'm back at the spinning wheel refilling my bobbins once again.

Happiness is #fiber and a #spinningwheel

Give me some Alpaca, Mohair, Blueface Leicester, Merino, Camel Down, Angora, Shetland, Romney, Jacob, Australian Bond, etc., and my spinning wheel and I'm happy.  I only have a few of these fibers right now, so I'm making do with what I do have.
I just finished refilling the second bobbin and started in refilling the third bobbin.

I can't stay long as I want to get back to the wheel and see how far I get in refilling this last bobbin before the day is out.  I would love to have 2 more skeins to dye at the end of the week.......that's my goal anyways.
The list of fibers I gave at the top is my goal of fibers to spin this year again.  So far I've only been spinning Alpaca.  But keep watching I will be spinning up some of these other fibers soon.

Busy spinng the last 2 days, dyeing today #dyeing #skeins #white #alpaca #yarn

Sorry for not posting!  I just got so into my spinning the last 2 days, that I just decided to post pictures instead.  So for those of you, that don't follow me on LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook, here's some pictures from the last 2 days.

Today I'll be dyeing up 2 of the skeins that I plied up on Tuesday.  These skeins will be dyed "Aztec Gold",  Here's what one of the skeins looks like in the dye pot.
I'm typing this blog, while I'm dyeing my yarn.  Tomorrow after these skeins are dry and I make labels, I'll take some more pictures and then get them listed.  I might even be dyeing 2 more skeins tomorrow, so stay tuned to see what color I choose to dye tomorrow.

Staying busy #spinning #alpaca

Good Afternoon Everyone!  Boy, was this weekend a busy weekend, filled with lots of spinning.  I spent a total of 5 hours 20 minutes 19 seconds at the spinning wheel.  I finished refilling the second bobbin
and even started refilling the third bobbin.
Today started off a little slow, as it usually does, with grocery shopping for the week, household chores getting done and finally getting back to the spinning room and spinning at the spinning wheel.  I just finished 1 hour 21 minutes 15 seconds worth of spinning and third bobbin is almost filled.
Now, that I've brought you up-to-date, its time for me to get back to the spinning wheel.  I hope to bring you good news tomorrow of having the third bobbin refilled and plying started or even a new skein plied up, washed and hung to dry.  Wish me luck!

Time at the #spinning wheel

Well, now that I have no other projects currently to work on...........I'm spending a lot of time at my spinning wheel, as you saw from yesterday's post.  So today was pretty much the same, only not as many pictures to show off.  Today I started off where I left off yesterday, in plying up the 17th skein of Handspun White Alpaca.
Soon, though I had another full bobbin of plied Handspun White Alpaca Yarn, ready to be wound off onto my niddy noddy, then washed and hung to dry.
Then I replaced an empty bobbin with a 1/4 full bobbin of handspun single alpaca and started in spinning again to refill it.
Time flies by, so fast when I'm sitting at the spinning wheel.

Stitches are out! Yippee!! Lots of spinning today!!! #spinning #bobbins #alpaca #white

Well, I went and got my stitches out today (2 hours ago).  I'm so happy, and when I got home I headed straight to the spinning room.  It was so nice to be sitting behind my old friend (spinning wheel), and spinning up alpaca again.  Oh yes, the alpaca fiber feels so nice again in my hands.
This is the third bobbin, that I'm refilling again and I'm getting close to filling it up.  I think another batt will do it.  I was right!  It only took 1 more batt to fill it up.  Now I have 3 full bobbins.
The first bobbin (on right) weights 5 1/8 ounces - 2 ounces (for bobbin) = 3 1/8 ounces
The second bobbin (middle) weights 4 1/4 ounces - 2 ounces (for bobbin) = 2 1/4 ounces
The third bobbin (on left) weights 4 7/8 ounces - 2 ounces (for bobbin) = 2 7/8 ounces
Total  3 1/8 + 2 1/4 + 2 7/8 ounces = 8 1/4 ounces of spun single alpaca yarn.
Now to start in plying up the 16th skein of 3 ply white alpaca yarn.
Whoohoo!  Another full bobbin of Handspun 3 ply White Alpaca Yarn from Bellagio's Fleece.
Now to wind it off onto my niddy noddy, wash it and hang it to dry.  Then start in plying up the 17th skein.

First bobbin refilled once again and second bobbin started to be refilled.

Busy last couple of days #spinning #knitting #JANSALE

The last couple of days I've been very busy knitting and spinning.  Sunday I came very close to finishing the first Boot Cuff and last night I managed to finish it and start on the mate.

Sunday I finished refilling the 3rd bobbin and then weighted all 3 bobbins, before starting in to ply up the 14th skein.
Bobbin #1 5 1/4 oz. - 2 oz. = 3 1/4 oz.
Bobbin #2 4 5/8 oz. - 2 oz. = 2 5/8 oz.
Bobbin #3 5 oz. - 2 oz. = 3 oz.
Total 14 7/8 oz

Starting to ply up the 14th skein of 3 ply white alpaca yarn.  Monday I almost had a full bobbin of 3 ply white alpaca yarn.

Sunday I was able to finish the leg on the mate to my mom's socks and start on the heel flap and came fairly close to finishing the leg on the mate to my brothers socks.
Today I'll pick up where I left on Sunday with my Mom's and brother's socks, trying to make up for time that was lost from yesterday.
